Join us for an inspiring edWebinar as we celebrate 11 years of Digital Citizenship Week with an exclusive presentation by Amy Eakin, the Director of Technology for the Northwest Arctic Borough School District in Alaska. Amy will be sharing her invaluable insights on how to foster a thriving digital citizenship community among students, staff, and families throughout the week.

During this session, attendees will learn about:

  • Embracing cultural diversity through spirit days: Discover innovative ways to celebrate the unique culture and region of your school community during Digital Citizenship Week.
  • Effective communication strategies: Learn about communication plans and messaging strategies that can be implemented across your entire school district. Explore the different roles that staff members can play in actively participating and promoting digital citizenship awareness.
  • Cultivating community buy-in: Explore strategies to gain community buy-in and support, and recognize participation from individuals and schools. Discover how to make digital citizenship a collective effort.

As an added bonus, Sue Thotz, Director of Education Outreach at Common Sense Education, will be sharing Digital Citizenship Week calendars full of short lesson activities and family outreach ideas. Attendees will leave equipped with practical tools and fresh perspectives for cultivating a whole-community approach to digital citizenship.

This edWebinar will be of interest to K-12 teachers, librarians, and school leaders. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.
